Umami is a Japanese word that means "tasty" and is one of the five basic flavors along with sweet, sour, bitter and salty. With this inspiration, they create the company, endowing it with a strong comic character, using Bboying, physical comedy, pantomime and theater as scenic languages, seeking to awaken the passers-by in the cities by making them part of the show. They are Gustavo Hoyos (Spain) and Jerome Leperlier (France) dancers from Bboying (Breakdance), with extensive experience in the world of dance. They began to work together in August 2012 and in December 2013 they created the duo Umami in Madrid with the aim of showing their shows in the streets and theaters of the cities, transforming the squares into improvised stages.
