Malditas Lagartijas / Beatriz del Monte
The Malditas Lagartijas Company, directed by Beatriz del Monte, is an emerging company that was born in 2014 and develops its work based on the investigation of dance, physical-theater, performance, poetry and audiovisuals. His language is guided by a social and political concern around critical thinking, transfeminism, historical memory and art as a means of social transformation. Social and pedagogical action are a fundamental pillar for the development of the company and its creations. For this reason, since 2018 the Move your gatx Research Workshop has been created, trying to generate a research space for everyone from healthy, creative and conscious learning.
Beatriz del Monte. Scene creator, performer and teacher in the field of dance who works in the search for her own language within the scene. Graduated in Contemporary Dance Choreography from the María de Ávila Superior Dance Conservatory.
She is trained in various branches of dance, including Spanish dance, however she will dedicate a large part of her professional training to urban dances, participating in national competitions, both in group and individual battles, being awarded a scholarship in 2016 by Community Danza.
In 2013 she began her studies of contemporary dance by studying first in Visual Arts and Dance at the Rey Juan Carlos I University of Madrid in agreement with the Alicia Alonso Superior Dance Institute of Cuba.
In 2016 she co-founded Microclima Colectivo Artístico, together with Cristina Meca, in order to create transdisciplinary spaces that create a network of artists and facilitate the approach of art to all people.
She collaborates with the Musical Impro space as a teacher in dance training for actors, a place that allows her to drink from the theater and continue in the search for her as a performer and scene creator.
Currently he continues in his search for the complete stage act, which is materialized in solo pieces such as "Malditas Lagartijas", "Lengua de gato, es chocolate", "Entraña Limonera" and "Un huevo, cuatro sardinas", released recently in DT Space.
She has participated as a contestant on the TV show “Fama a Bailar”.
As a dancer she has worked with choreographers and companies such as: Cía. Mey-Ling Bisogno, Victoria P. Miranda, Danni Pannullo, Sharon Fridman, Cía. Mymadder, Madrid Chamber Ballet and Cáceres Flamenco Ballet.
